Identifying and claiming Capital Allowances for the obvious receipted expenditure is relatively straightforward. However, the tax legislation provides a wide range of items to be claimed and in many instances you/your advisor will not know they exist, let alone ensure that the qualifying items are correctly identified, categorised and valued to pass the scrutiny of HMRC.

Is it worthwhile?

We think so. It is not unusual for us to find between 15 and 25% of the purchase price of an acquired property in Capital Allowances, (higher where significant refurbishment expenditure has been incurred). When you balance this against our fees, which are contingent based upon the value of the additional qualifying expenditure we identify and are accepted by HMRC (we never charge more than 6%). An immediate cash benefit is achievable in most instances, with a reduced tax liability effective for years to come. This may also enhance any sale price of the property where you are considering selling. Furthermore our service is designed to take the pressure away from you as we manage the process with a designated point of contact.
