I am a graduate of Sheffield University and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Peat Marwick in 1987. I joined the firm in 1991, and set up and ran the Corporate Department which specialises in audit and company matters. I became a member of the Institute of Taxation in 1992, and a partner of the firm in 1998.

I advise a wide range of businesses and individuals and particularly enjoy helping owner-managers with tax matters such as tax-efficient business structures and estate planning. I am qualified as a Responsible Individual for audit purposes.  I also work with a number of not for profit organisations and am Company Secretary of a local charity in the areas of accounts and assurance services.

I love music and outside of work I enjoy playing my violin in a quartet of friends and with the North Staffs Symphony Orchestra, activities which are very sociable as well as musical!
